Elopement or Traditional Wedding: Which is best for you?

Elopements are trending as more couples are covering the costs of their own wedding and also wanting to say “I Do” with the least amount of stress possible. I specialize in elopements. From destination unions planned months in advance to local elopements with several days notice, I love getting to capture the beautiful moments even the simplest ceremony holds.

Low stress, smaller budget, flexibility, fast. The negative stigma elopements generally received is going away as more people realize the benefits of keeping things simple. You can still infuse lots of “pinterest worthy/Style-Me-Pretty-esque” elements into a simple elopement so that your wedding still has the gorgeous elements every girl dreams about, but without the big price tag. Elopements also provide greater flexibility for amazing pictures! Build in enough time for a creative session before or after the ceremony as a couple, or tack on a boudoir session before you get ready and give it to him as a post-wedding gift.

I like to think of elopements as styled shoots: a photo session that’s big on details and dripping with beauty. Those elegant photos of couples in fabulous locations, relaxed and enjoying themselves. Close up shots of their wedding announcements and maybe a love letter or two. It’s opening a chapter of a classic love story and seeing yourselves floating along in picture perfection. Time is irrelevant -unlike a traditional wedding where the clock is constantly ticking as you move from one tradition to the next, at the mercy of hungry guests.

Sharing is caring. The great thing about being a modern gal is you have the resources to share your key life moments with a key stroke. My brides always receive online galleries with flexible sharing of images with their loved ones and everyone gets to re-live the celebration all over again. Plus, you will receive printing rights which means you can make your own albums and wall art -and make your mother over-the-moon-style happy.

I love weddings.

And I really love elopements.
