When you know… you know. And that’s the way it was with Melissa+Tyler. Both school teachers, they met at work in the Galveston area. After dating for a few short months, it was plain as day that -yep- together was how they wanted to spend the rest of their lives. Click! Personally, I have a similar story and it’s so very true: once you know what kind of partner you’re looking for, when you meet them you know!
Melissa contacted me through my ElopeTexas.com site that is tailored to brides looking for small, intimate weddings. Together we planned the perfect day, filled with all the rustic chic touches she was looking for. The venue, who also caters and handles bar service, was Rio Cibolo Ranch (one of my favorite San Antonio area venues for rustic weddings -they are divine to work with and have wonderful rates!)
Even though there was a slight mist of rain through the evening, the couple and their immediate family (and one lovely bridesmaid) made a splendid celebration that was absolutely perfect!

Isn’t this a fun idea for a guest book alternative?
I love the simplicity of the textured buttercream cake -and wait until you see it cut -all the layers and the almond buttercream filling is to die for! Made by Paige’s Bakehouse in the Round Rock/North Austin area.
Keeping the total cost down, Melissa opted for lots of DIY touches and non-traditional flowers. Her bridal party flowers were paper/wood ordered off Etsy.com. Her runners, chair bows, and fun vases were a mix of DIY and Etsy finds. With a wedding this small, the DIY projects aren’t nearly as overwhelming as, say, a 150 guest wedding. This was a great opportunity to be crafty while avoiding major stress! Rio Cibolo Ranch provides the basic linens and table set up, making it a breeze to come in and quickly decorate.
Adorable embroidered bride and maid of honor shirts!
Tyler waited for Melissa as she strolled down the path for their First Look. Oh, what romantic moments!
“So, should I turn around now?”
The first thing out of his mouth, “Oh my gosh, you look SO BEAUTIFUL!!” Just what every bride yearns to hear from their beloved!
Glory be! The BEST PART!!
Check out this spread! Fajitas galore! Rio Cibolo Ranch’s in-house catering is the bomb.
Ready for it….. CAKE FIGHT!
These two couldn’t be more delicious!
And look at that! The best part of cake is frosting, am I right or am I right?
It doesn’t matter how small your wedding is: DANCE!
Now, that was a fun night!
Congratulations, Melissa+Tyler! Oh, what a joy to see the love that filled your celebration! Thank you so much for the sheer delight of getting to capture your wedding!
